If spotless minds bid eternal rays,
Then faces are shown like empty hearts—
Though you cannot seem to unhear or erase
How then can you try to fasten the pace:
How, then how will you stop pondering;
What, with what will you try to control your rage
When, til when will you keep remembering;
Who, just who was it before i was?
Tell me, love of mine
How cruel this earth
To pair us in twos
Yet create other ones
That can fill the same shoe.
Unlike any other, you are my safety:
Even when in you I see the purest intention
How can I be sure my name is the eternal mention
What proof do words have to only repeat itself:
Tell me, love of mine
How cruel this earth
To make us feel new
When there has always been
Someone before you
If stars decide to play tag and malign,
Showing its cruelty for the infinite time;
Keep me at bay or leave me be —
But don't make me be
— a someone before anyone.
